Work experience
We do accept applications for work experience from local college students, usually subject to a written application and a brief informal interview. Please contact us directly to discuss further.
Typically a work experience placement:
– is one week in duration
– is unpaid
– requires parental/carer’s permission if you are under 18 years of age.
What does a navy Daisy work experience placement involve?
The principal activity will be working on the shop floor, front of house. This means helping the member(s) of staff and providing customer service. In addition, we aim to include a broader understanding of retail and running a small business. This will typically include a brief introduction to:
– Buying
– Stock management
– Product display
– Marketing
– Web retail
– Back office considerations (legal, financial, tax, HR, etc.)

Please be aware that while we will try to provide work-experience students with as broad an experience of retail and running a small business as possible, the content of the placement will be subject to the time of year and the level and extent of the business activities at that time.
